Matt Tynan
Of Counsel
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Matt grew up (primarily) in beautiful Appalachian Mountains of Blacksburg, Virginia.
Matt attended Virginia Tech majoring in Urban Policy & Planning with a concentration in Environmental Planning. After completing his Bachelor's Degree, Matt took a job with Wake County Government (Raleigh, NC) as an environmental planner and began his Master's Degree at North Carolina State University. During his time with Wake County, Matt was integral in development and security funding for the American Tobacco Trail, an award winning "Rails to Trails" project.
Following the completion of his Master's, Matt enrolled at the Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama. While attending law school Matt distinguished himself as leader serving as the Chief Justice of both the Moot Court Board and the Honor Court. Matt was also recognized for his excellence in appellate law and for his charitable work as he spearheaded efforts to create a scholarship program for Virginia Tech student to attend law school at Cumberland in memory of the students lost in the tragedy of April 16th, 2007.
When he isn’t working tirelessly for his clients, Matt enjoys cycling (road & mountain) and spending time with his wife.
